Hello there! Welcome back to another Do It Yourself article brought to you from all the staff here at ToolPartsDirect.com. This time we’re going to show you how to change the switch off of a Porter Cable Belt Sander.

Tools You Will Need:

Phillips Head Screwdriver

Torx Head Screwdriver

Alright! Let’s get started!

Step 1:

First, start by removing the handle cover from the sander. You will unscrew two Phillips and three torx screws.

Step 2:

Now that the cover has been removed, unscrew the screws holding the switch and the green (ground) wire in place.

Step 3:

Remove the screws attaching the white and black wires.

Once the old switch is removed, replace it with a new switch.

Step 4:

With the new switch installed, reattach the black, white and green wires where you found them.

Step 5:

Tuck the wires back into place and put the cover back on. Make sure you don’t pinch the wires.

Step 6:

Finally, screw the screws into the cover and you’re all set!

There you have it. Hopefully, this article helped you save some time and money! Keep an eye out for future content from all the staff here at ToolPartsDirect.com.
