Hello again! Welcome back to another Do It Yourself repair article from all the staff here at ToolPartsDirect.com. Today, we’re going to show you how to install a new cord on a skil saw. Before we start, make sure your saw is unplugged and powered off.

Tools You Will Need:

Phillips Screwdriver

Step 1:

Use your screwdriver to remove the handle cover. Note that you may need a few different torx bits for this project.

Step 2:

Now that the cover is off, use your screwdriver to detach all the wires. Don’t forget where all the wires go!

Step 3:

Unscrew the clamp that holds the cord in place inside the saw.

Step 4:

Slide off the strain relief and remove the old power cord. Keep the strain relief. We’ll use it for the new cord.

Step 5:

Now, take the new cord and slide the old strain relief onto the cord.

Step 6:

Install the cord into the saw and screw the clamp into the grooves to hold the cord in place.

Step 7:

Re-screw the wires into their appropriate ports.

Step 8:

Now, screw in all components into the saw.

Step 9:

Now, screw the cover back on.

And there you have it! It’s as simple as that. Hopefully, this article saved you some time and money. Please look at our prior Do It Yourself articles on our blog. Also, be on the lookout for future content from all of us here at ToolPartsDirect.com.
