Hello again! Welcome back to another Do It Yourself article from all the staff here at Tool Parts Direct! Today, we’re going to show you how to replace the break on a Porter Cable sander.

Tools You Will Need:

Flat head Screwdriver

Torx Screwdriver

As always, make sure your sander’s switch is flipped to the “OFF” position and unplugged from your power outlet. We want you to remain safe! After that’s done, let’s get started!

Step 1:

Use your flat head screwdriver to remove the three screws and the sandpaper from your sander.

Now, clean out any dust or debris that may be lodged in your sander. Inspect the inside for any problems.

Step 2:

Take your torx screwdriver and remove the two screws on the inside.

Pry the side casing off, but be careful not to break the o-ring. After that, make sure all of your parts are in working order.

Step 3:

Go ahead and remove the old pad. Line the notch on the new pad up with the seam in the cover.

Step 4:

Work the break and the cover back on the sander.

Replace the screws and the pad. Finally, plug it in and test.

And there you have it! Hopefully, this article saved you some time and money! Make sure you keep an eye out for future content from all of us here at ToolPartsDirect.com.
