Hello again! Welcome back to another Do It Yourself article from all the web staff here from ToolPartsDirect.com! Today, we’re going to show you how to replace the brushes on a Porter Cable Sander.

Tools You Will Need:

Torx Screwdriver

Needle Nose Pliers

Before we start, make sure your sander is switched to the ‘OFF’ position and unplugged from a power outlet. Once that’s done, let’s get started!

Step 1:

Use your screwdriver to unscrew the three screws to remove the top cover.

Step 2:

Use your needle nose pliers to remove the brush inside the sander.

Step 3:

Use your pick to pull back the spring and remove the brushes.

Should look something like this.

Step 4:

Once the old brushes have been removed, pull the spring back and install the new brushes into the sander. Make sure the white wire is pointed upwards.

Install the other brush as well.

Step 5:

Use your needle nose pliers and pick to plug the brushes into the sander.

Step 6:

Finally, place the cover and screw the three screws to secure the cover to the sander.

And there you have it! Hopefully, this article saved you some time and money. Make sure you keep an eye out for future content from all of us here from Tool Parts Direct!
