Hello again! Welcome back to another Do It Yourself article from all the staff here from ToolPartsDirect.com. Today, we’re going to show you how to replace the guard and spring on a Makita Circular Saw.

Tools You Will Need:

Needle Nose Pliers

Before we start, as always make sure your saw is powered off and unplugged. Remember, we want you to stay safe. Once you have that done, let’s get started!

Step 1:

Remove the blade and then using your pliers, remove the retaining ring.

Step 2:

Now, pull the guard towards you and then over the stopper to remove it.

Unhook the spring from the guard.

Now, unhook the spring. It should come off pretty easily.

Take your new spring and hook it on the left side of the saw. It hooks onto the guard through a small hole near the center.

Put the new guard on and pull it back behind the stopper.

Now, replace the retaining ring and the blade.

Finally, plug it in and test.

And there you have it. Not too shabby, right? Hopefully, this article saved you some time and money. If you like our articles and think they can help others, please share them. Make sure you keep an eye out for future content from ToolPartsDirect.com.
