How To Replace The Quick Couplers And Safety Valve on a Porter Cable Compressor

Hello again! Welcome to another Do It Yourself article from
all of the web staff here at ToolPartsDirect.com. Today, we’re going to show
you how to replace the quick couplers and safety valve on a Porter Cable
Compressor.
Tools You Will Need:
Torx Screwdriver
Wrench
Teflon Tape
Before we start, make sure your compressor is unplugged and powered down. We want you to be safe! Once that’s done, let’s get started!
Step 1:
First, you your fingers to pull the safety pin near the gauges. Then, use your torx screwdriver to loosen the screw holding gauge cover over the gauge.
The cover should come right off.
Step 2:
Now, use your wrench to remove the couplers. BE CAREFUL! Brass is a soft metal and it can be damaged if you apply to much pressure.
Step 3:
Take your Teflon tape and wrap it around the thread. Make sure it’s wrapped the same direction the thread.
Step 4:
Thread all three couplers by hand. Then, use your wrench to tighten. Make sure it’s nice and snug, but don’t overtighten it.
Step 5:
Once all three couplers are tightened, replace the cover.
Finally, tighten the drain valve, plug it in and test it
out.
